\nToday the global cut flower\u00a0industry wants rich textures,\u00a0multi-petals, extra layers, intense\u00a0colours and \u2018full appearance\u2019 flowers,\u00a0so to answer this need, Danziger\u00a0introduced the Scoop\u2122 Scabiosa\u00a0series. Breeders used new technology\u00a0to reinvent this cottage-garden\u00a0favourite and the Scoop series of\u00a0strong-stemmed Scabiosa in a range\u00a0of colours and bicolours is taking\u00a0the flower world by storm. There\u00a0are four Scoop series on offer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bon Bon\u00a0Scoop series<\/strong>
\nThis amazing new series\u00a0features both full and\u00a0ball-shaped flowers\u00a0with long, thick, strong\u00a0pedicels and no pollen\u00a0shed. It lasts up to four\u00a0days longer than other\u00a0Scabiosa cultivars.<\/p>\n

Focal Scoop\u2122\u00a0<\/strong>The Focal Scoop series is composed of a wide\u00a0range of colours and textures and its large\u00a08\u201310cm diameter heads (regular Scoop has\u00a04\u20136cm), with thicker stems, provide a new\u00a0option to the world of focal flowers.<\/p>\n

\nWhat is the vase life of Scoop Scabiosa?<\/strong>
\nThe vase life should be about 10 days, depending on\u00a0the right cut stage, treatment and so on. These flowers\u00a0can be ethylene sensitive so take care if placed close to\u00a0fruit and vegetables.
\nAre any more Scoop series in the pipeline?<\/strong>
\nNew cultivars planned for 2021 include: Raspberry\u00a0Ripple Scoop, Sweet Cherry Scoop, Dark Cherry\u00a0Scoop and Marshmallow Improved Scoop together\u00a0with Blackberry Focal Scoop.
\nDark Lavender, French Vanilla, Merlot and Pink,\u00a0Peppermint are additions planned for the Bon Bon\u00a0Scoop series.<\/p>\n

Scabiosa flower heads\u00a0have wonderful texture\u00a0and form. Which types\u00a0have the largest flowers?<\/strong>
\nAll the new introductions\u00a0in the Scoop series have\u00a0thicker stems and bigger\u00a0than average flowers,\u00a0especially in \u2018Red Velvet\u00a0Scoop\u2019, but the biggest\u00a0blooms belong to the\u00a0Focal Scoop and Bon Bon\u00a0Scoop series.
\nCan you dry Scabiosa?<\/strong>
\nSome Scabiosa can be dried and last for a long time.\u00a0Scabiosa stellata, which can also be grown in the\u00a0garden, dries beautifully. Harvest fresh seed heads\u00a0and air dry by hanging in a warm, well-ventilated
\nplace. However, the Scoop Scabiosa are not suitable\u00a0for drying and their beautiful blooms should be\u00a0appreciated in all their glory in the fresh bloom state.
