Pure white, small and very natural looking, the Gyp is one of the most \u201cbasics\u201d of the cut flowers industry, commonly used to accompany roses or to give the \u201cangelic\u201d look for a white, pasteli bouquet.<\/p>\n

In 1997 Danziger, an advanced breeding and production company introduced a game-changing Gyp to the market. Danziger called it \u201cMILLION STARS\u00ae<\/a>\u201d, as the small white flowers resembled little shining stars. For the first time in the global industry, a vegetative breeding of Gypsophila was available, and growers could ensure consistent high-quality production of this variety. This MILLION STARS\u00ae swept the market and was quickly adopted by many growers around the world; making is the best-selling Gyp worldwide.<\/p>\n

Since then, a lot has changed, many new varieties were introduced, and market trends and tastes changed over and over. Danziger had expanded its portfolio dramatically, adding more crops and varieties to its assortment, such as the latest SCOOP\u2122<\/a> Scabiosa. But the Gyp stayed the star for Danziger, and the company\u2019s declares its mission to continue leading the Gyp global market, keeping a close connection with designers and end-users, and creating the varieties to fulfill their needs and dreams, in a way that would be beneficial for growers around the world.<\/p>\n

Mega trends in fashion and style are now bringing Gyp to the center again. From back to basics, to \u201cless is more\u201d, natural styled bouquets and arrangements are getting more and more popular around the world. The Gyp today is more than an accent for a bouquet, and uses many times as the center of design, as seen in Gyp white wedding, or even in a higher demand for Gyp consumer bunches.<\/p>\n

As such, the market for Gyp had developed significantly, and the phrase \u201cGyp is Gyp\u201d, cannot hold anymore. Following many interviews and researches, Danziger is offering a wide portfolio of Gyp, from the extra-large flowers of XLENCE\u00ae<\/a> to the naturally shinning MY WHITE COSMIC\u2122<\/a>, all to fulfill the growing demand for a higher diversification in Gyp, to enable designers to use this flower in more interesting and creative ways.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Danziger once again is going to be taking a leading part in bringing the Gyp market to the next stage. With the slogan \u201cGyp is back\u201d, Danziger presents new products, new language and a new usage campaign.<\/p>\n

With the understanding of the end-users language, Danziger split its assortment into 3 different \u201cfamilies\u201d \u2013 the XLENCE collection\u2122<\/a>, with varieties of large flowered Gyp, the MY COLOR collection\u2122<\/a>– with naturally colored Gyp-including MY PINK\u00ae<\/a> and MY WHITE COSMIC\u2122<\/a>, and the MILLION collection\u2122<\/a>– with small flowered Gyp. Through this, growers can find the best variety in any collection to suit their growing conditions, thus supplying their customer needs, worldwide.<\/p>\n

In 2018, motivated by the \u201cretro\u201d trends, Danziger introduced two new varieties of small flowers, under the MILLION collection\u2122. MILLION STARS\u00ae II<\/a> is an updated genetic version of the MILLION STARS\u00ae<\/a>, with very similar appearance, but higher quality from the grower level to the consumer level. MILLION CLOUDS\u2122<\/a> is the new additive to the family, and is a variety aimed to answer the global trend of \u201cfull\u201d flowers (like cushion mums)- this Gyp has small but very full flowers and brings the new generation of small-flowered Gyp to the market.<\/p>\n

As the leader of the global Gyp market, Danziger takes it on them to also teach the market, and encourage smart and creative use of this flower. For that, Danziger has partnered up with Bill and Kris Schaffer, from Schaffer designs, to create an inspirational- practical bouquet catalog- for Gyp.
\nThe Gyp catalog, to be published in March 2018, will help end-users, from designers to product managers and buyers, to get the best out of their Gyp, using the right variety for the right design.<\/p>\n
